The story of Rainbowland Child Development Centre (RCDC) started when Deaconess Dorothy Khoo visited a kindergarten pioneered by a Malaysian church. She was impressed by how this kindergarten had impacted its community. The vision of a kindergarten in Thailand was thus formed in her mind. When the Asian economic crisis hit Thailand and many church members were laid off, Ds Dorothy sought to help provide employment for members. She made the bold move of starting RCDC as a child care service provider in 1998 even without much expertise nor enough funding.
